How many applications are recommended per year?

Every property is different. We recommend four to five times per year due to the life cycle of ticks and how much tick habitat is on your property.

What is the life cycle of a tick?

  • Spring Adult ticks that have over-wintered begin to breed
  • Early Summer Nymphs begin to hatch
  • Mid-Late Summer Around August/September the larvae are at peak activity
  • Fall Around October ticks have matured to full adults and are at peak activity

How do I identify a deer tick?

But I don't have any deer in my yard. Why should I consider tick control?

Deer are not the only animals carrying ticks. A variety of animals including but not limited to mice, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons and even birds are known to carry ticks.

What else can I do to rid ticks from my property?

Ticks thrive in moist, dark environments such as under leaf litter, shaded wood lines, tall under-maintained turf-grass and wooded lots. There are a number of simple things you can do help control tick habitats such as:

  • Keep active areas mowed and clear of leaf litter
  • Dispose piles of rotting/decayed firewood, piles of grass clippings
  • Clean woodlines where your family or dog may actively congregate
  • Always inspect dogs for ticks when they come back into the house after playing outdoors
